The best time to visit the Netherlands
The best time to travel to the Netherlands is between May and September, when mild temperatures, long days, and blooming landscapes create ideal conditions for outdoor activities, cycling tours, and relaxed days by the North Sea. Spring during tulip season and high summer are especially beautiful. In April, Zeeland often shows its fresh yet friendly side. Temperatures usually range between 10°C and 15°C, with occasional sunshine and a crisp sea breeze. Any showers are typically short-lived—perfect for outdoor workouts, long beach walks, and movement in the fresh air. The region is quieter in spring than in summer, leaving plenty of space for nature and recovery.
