Withdrawal Notice

This page explains in general terms when a statutory withdrawal right may exist for travel services and when statutory cancellation and termination rights apply instead. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.

1. No general withdrawal right for online travel bookings

For travel services concluded online or otherwise at a distance, there is generally no general statutory withdrawal right. Instead, the relevant statutory cancellation and termination rights and the applicable contractual cancellation rules apply.

For Reiseathleten-operated trips, the contractual details are set out in the Reiseathleten Terms and the refund policy.

2. Exception: contracts concluded outside business premises

A statutory withdrawal right may exist in exceptional cases if a contract for travel services under Section 651a BGB was concluded outside business premises, unless the verbal negotiations were based on a prior request by the consumer. Whether that exception applies depends on the specific circumstances of the contract formation.

3. What applies instead

If no withdrawal right exists, the following rules may become relevant depending on the booking model:

• contractual and statutory cancellation rights before the start of the trip
• statutory rights in the event of material service changes or extraordinary circumstances
• claims for defects, non-performance, or other breaches of duty

4. Partner retreats in the marketplace

For partner retreats in the Reiseathleten marketplace, the respective host is the organiser or service provider of the retreat. The host-specific cancellation and rebooking rules are disclosed before booking. In addition, the Reiseathleten Marketplace Terms govern the platform flow.

Here too, the rule remains: there is generally no automatic 14-day withdrawal right for travel services booked online unless a specific statutory exception applies.
